EPOCH Musical Instruments

From humble beginnings and ‘the challenge’-  i.e. to bring the advantages of modern knowledge of dynamics, production methods and materials to the 400 year old design of the conventional violin, without destroying its wonderful musical qualities and aesthetics - emerged the original  Epoch acoustic violin. Key attributes are –

The playability and dynamic range to take the student to the highest grades of musical training.
It is very robust and can be maintained by the student or teacher using interchangeable replacement parts.
No expert fitting is required for the bridge or sound post.
Modern materials and glues are used, making the instrument practically impervious to adverse climatic effects.
The success of the acoustic design has led to the development of the Epoch Series of more specialised instruments to suit students, professionals and recreational players.
The unique Epoch technology is uniform across all series, but by applying different construction materials and finishes we are able to enhance the instrument's appeal and cater to almost any requirement and request – student to professional, acoustic to electric.

All instruments feature, and are designed to be –Epoch VP 5

A welcome addition to the violin stable is the 5-string.
These instruments feature a low C and are available in 2

suited for electric stage work and teachers or players
who play both - viola and violin.

EPOCH Musical Instruments

Our better instruments make use of the latest in our unique carbon fibre/wood technology.  This is a laminated process giving a result where the high strength to weight ratio of carbon fibre means the instrument is lighter, louder and more responsive than the all wood equivalent. The tonal changes are evident with a more responsive, more accurate, powerful and clean sound.
