The Bostocks

The last year has been extraordinary for Aussie band of brothers and sisters; The Bostocks. The group have toured extensively selling out shows, also taking part in large profile performances including The Stars under the Stars Concert in New Zealand which saw them perform to thousands. The Bostocks also took out a Golden Fiddle award and with the release of their new single “Not by a Long Shot” around the corner, 2009 is set to be even bigger!  Hailing from Queensland, Australia this band of talented brothers and sisters began their musical journey at tender ages, performing at mainly local pubs. Growing up among a strong musical environment “The Bostocks” have always enjoyed making music together, well over a decade on and the musical bond between the four is stronger than ever.

After performing with guitar maestro Phil Emmanuel for the first time in 1996 Phil inspired and encouraged these tender aged musicians. In 1998 the group attended the Tamworth Country Music Festival for the first time and have been going back ever since to perform. Since then they have been awarded prestigious Golden Fiddle Awards during their visits and are gaining much deserved recognition.

While managing school they toured the east coast of Australia, sometimes not making it home for school on Monday because of the usual car problems. However with extensive musical tuition and encouragement “The Bostocks” were bound to bigger things.

Some highlight concerts The Bostocks have performed at in recent years have been: The Gympie Music Muster, The Xstrata Mt Isa Rodeo, The Stars under the Stars Concert and The Port Fairy Folk Festival where they were awarded The Maton Young Talent Award.

The release of their debut album “In the Neighbourhood” (2007) features dazzling electric Violin solos from Rachel, Robbie’s astounding Guitar virtuosity, Sara’s smooth and stylistic bass playing and Brendan’s solid drumming not to mention their warm vocal harmonies.

Their musical aptitude is exceptional for a band so young, carrying all the hallmarks of well-seasoned professionals lovingly perfecting their craft. Their music is infectious as is their stage presence and always leaves the audience wanting more. On tours in recent years The Bostocks have supported International icons such as INXS, Jimmy Barnes and more recently the legendary Stevie Wright, finally establishing their credentials as an act to definitely watch out for.
